Installation

Installing the app is quick and mostly hands-off. Adding the checkout and/or theme blocks is not — that part is manual, required, and the actual scope of this work.

1. Install the App

  1. Install Croissant from the Shopify App Store.
  2. Authorize the requested permissions. Croissant reads orders, products, customers, gift cards, and returns, and writes discounts and a web pixel.

2. Confirm It Connected

In the background, Croissant creates your five discounts and registers the analytics pixel. Nothing on your storefront changes yet — this step is just confirming the backend came up clean.

  1. Navigate to the Croissant app in your Shopify admin.
  2. On its Settings page, confirm the connection reads Connected, with all five discounts and the pixel Active.
  3. Then check Discounts in your Shopify admin directly and confirm the same five discounts are there. The app page is a summary; the admin list is the source of truth.
Warning
If Settings reads Not Connected, this store's domain is not linked to a Croissant merchant account. Nothing will render until it is, and reinstalling does not help — send the exact domain to your Croissant contact.

3. Add the Checkout and/or Theme Blocks

This is the step the app does not do for you, and the one your work is actually scoped around. Nothing appears on your storefront until you add a block and give it a place to render.

On Plus, add the checkout block — it is what applies the discounts, so treat it as required rather than optional. Add the theme blocks on any plan for cart and cart-drawer reach; on Basic, Grow, and Advanced they are the only surface, so at least one is required there too.

Info
Even with the blocks placed correctly, the storefront will show nothing until Croissant switches your integration live on its side — see Going Live. Placing the blocks ahead of that is expected and safe.
